Mark Davy is the Founder of Futurecity, a global multi-disciplinary placemaking agency set up in 2007 to promote culture-driven placemaking. A former artist Davy has promoted culture as the guiding narrative for the regeneration and development of towns, cities and regions.
Mark has persuaded the private sector to invest in the arts at an early stage in the masterplan and regeneration process, with over 140 public art projects and over 250 strategies delivered in the UK, Europe, North America, Middle East and Australia.
In London Futurecity has been involved in some of the capitals largest development projects, including Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms, Wood Wharf, Shard Quarter, Greenwich Peninsula, Barking Riverside and Wembley Park and large-scale art and engineering public art projects, including the Crossrail (Elizabeth) Culture Line, the Illuminated River Project, Richard Wilson RA ‘Slipstream’ at Heathrow Airport and Conrad Shawcross RA ‘Optic Cloak’ Energy Centre at Greenwich Peninsula.
Mark is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Advisory Panel, a Trustee to Hypha Studios, Executive Director for the Land Economic Society Member of the NLA Expert Panel for Culture and member of the National Trust Regional Advisory Group.
